Helping People Grow — Workshop
A practical workshop for people who help others grow
Helpers often face tensions that simple advice does not resolve.
How much should I expect?
When does support become overfunctioning?
How do I preserve agency while maintaining accountability?
How do I set clear limits while continuing to act with charity?
The Helping People Grow workshop is designed around those tensions.
The program is in development for future delivery. It is not a certification or professional credential.
Intended audiences
The framework may be useful to coaches, facilitators, ministers, educators, mentors, parents, organizational trainers, and professionals who choose to use it within their own scope and judgment.
Core learning sequence
1. The helping dilemma
Explore the tension between charity, agency, accountability, and realistic expectations.
2. Capacity-fitted respondability
Ask what the person can genuinely carry now and what support would enlarge that capacity.
3. Agency-preserving support
Identify when help enlarges participation and when it replaces participation.
4. Actionable accountability
Make expectations, consequences, support, and next steps clear.
5. Boundaries and jurisdiction
Clarify what belongs to the helper and what belongs to the other person.
6. Feedback and correction
Separate observation from interpretation and build a practical developmental path.
7. Reciprocal humility
Ask what the helper may be missing and what evidence would change the current interpretation.
8. Restorative developmental planning
Use:
Truthful assessment → capacity-fitted expectation → nourishment/support → meaningful participation → observable development → progressively enlarged respondability.
Possible delivery formats
Future formats may include a 60–90 minute introduction, a 2–3 hour workshop, a multi-session practitioner course, role-specific application labs, and later facilitator resources.
Any future licensing, train-the-trainer, or certification pathway should be represented only after those systems actually exist.

Scope
The Seven Governing Dynamics is a proposed developmental framework. It does not replace the standards, ethics, or specialized expertise required by a person’s professional role.
